Dr. Nicole Pecko brings both expertise and heart to everything she does. Originally from Westlake, Ohio, she discovered her love for science and helping others early on. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a minor in Molecular Biology from Miami University of Ohio, then followed her passion for eye care to The Ohio State University, where she graduated Cum Laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2017.
Driven by a deep commitment to making a difference in people’s lives through better vision, Dr. Pecko began her career in Columbia, SC, before finding her true home in Bluffton in 2019 at Darling Eye Center. Here, she has built lasting relationships with her patients, many of whom she’s had the privilege to care for year after year.
Dr. Pecko has a special interest in specialty contact lenses, fitting everything from RGPs and scleral lenses to CRT lenses, helping patients with even the most challenging vision needs regain clarity and comfort. Whether it’s helping a child see the board at school or fitting a complex contact lens for someone with keratoconus, she approaches every case with dedication and compassion.
Outside the exam room, Dr. Pecko’s world revolves around family. She and her husband, Steven, married in 2020 and recently welcomed their son, Adam, in July 2023. If she’s not out strolling with Adam or enjoying time with their two energetic dogs, Louie and Rory, you’ll likely find her enthusiastically cheering on her beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
