Dr. Alicia Kinch is a Michigan native whose dedication to patient care and clinical excellence shines through in every interaction. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Transylvania University, where she also played second base for the Pioneers—now fittingly renamed the Bats. In 2016, she graduated with high clinical honors from the Illinois College of Optometry, followed by a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Care at the same institution.
Dr. Kinch’s commitment to advancing her clinical knowledge earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) in 2018—an achievement that reflects her expertise in managing complex eye conditions and staying at the forefront of her field. Before joining Darling Eye Center, she spent several years in academic and hospital-based settings, providing care for a wide range of patients while also helping to train future optometrists.
Today, Dr. Kinch is thrilled to bring her experience and patient-focused approach to the Lowcountry community. She takes pride in making her patients feel heard, cared for, and well-informed about their eye health.
Outside the clinic, family is at the heart of Dr. Kinch’s world. She enjoys spending time with her husband, two energetic toddlers, and extended family. Whether trying out new restaurants, getting her daily exercise through “toddler dance parties,” or unwinding on her front porch, she embraces the sunshine and slower pace that South Carolina living offers.
