With more than 34 years of experience in optometry, Dr. Cynthia Wilson offers a unique combination of clinical expertise, compassion, and patient-centered care. After many fulfilling years practicing in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, she relocated to Hilton Head Island in 2015, where she has been proudly serving the community ever since.
Dr. Wilson’s path in eye care began at Purdue University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology, followed by her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She is board certified by both the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and the South Carolina Board of Examiners in Optometry. As an active member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association, she remains committed to advancing her knowledge and delivering the highest standard of care.
Known for her thorough, personalized approach, Dr. Wilson takes time to listen to her patients, educate them about their eye health, and develop care plans tailored to their individual needs. Whether diagnosing early signs of disease, managing chronic conditions, or fitting glasses and contact lenses, she is passionate about helping people protect and improve their vision at every stage of life.
Beyond the exam room, Dr. Wilson volunteers with Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island, where she combines her love of nature with her dedication to community service. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and soaking up the island’s natural beauty.
For Dr. Wilson, making a meaningful difference in her patients’ lives—and helping them see the world with clarity and confidence—remains the most rewarding part of her work.
